Recycled/Remanufactured Tires – The remanufactured tire process uses worn tire casings that are free of damage to mold new rubber completely around the old casing – producing an aesthetically “new” tire. This process re-uses approximately 45% – 55% of the previously used material in the construction of the new tire. This saves energy, rubber, time and money, especially for our customers. This process is also performed on Cushion/Press-On Forklift tires – whereby the recycled base steel bands are combined with new rubber to create a new full-size tire. Retread or Recapping is a term used for tires that use the casing of a used tire to remold a new tread (cap) onto it for reuse. Typically this process is most done on Over-The Road Tractor/Trailer Tires but is also common on Pneumatic Radial/Cross-Ply Forklift Tires and Solid Resilient Forklift tires. Used casings where the tire sidewall or bead is damaged or severely worn cannot be safely retreaded/recapped. Common sizes for Retreading / Remanufactured Forklift tires are similar to virgin Pneumatic Radial or Solid Resilient and Cushion/Press-on Forklift Tires. |
